Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TinyTrail ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service is operated by an indie / sole operator based in Japan. Features will be added gradually; references to features describe both the current and near-future scope.
Definitions
- "The Service": the web service offered under the name TinyTrail, including the hobby-type quiz, the 7-day plan, the AI trainer companion, the activity log, and the community.
- "Free plan": the part of the Service you can use for free.
- "30-day plan": a paid one-time purchase that grants 30 days of hobby missions and continuation guidance.
- "Plus plan": a paid monthly subscription.
- "Content": any text, image, or activity log you create or post on the Service.
- "AI companion" / "AI trainer": generative-AI features inside the Service that offer suggestions and reflection.
Account registration
Some features require an account, created with a nickname and an email address (or OAuth). We do not collect your real name, address, face photo, gender, or phone number.
You're responsible for managing your own account credentials. We aren't liable for damages caused by leaked or misused credentials.
Minors must obtain parental or guardian consent before using the Service.
What we provide
The Service includes the following:
- The hobby-type quiz and its result
- The 7-day plan and today's mission, tuned to your type
- The 30-day plan (paid one-time)
- Ongoing companionship from the AI trainer (Plus)
- An activity log (Plus)
- A low-pressure community centered on activity logs (Plus)
- Hobby-related articles (when available)
Feature scope, pricing, and layout may change without prior notice for the sake of improvement. We'll announce important changes in-product or by email.
Notes on the AI features
The AI features are designed to help your hobby stick. They are not for any of the following:
- Medical diagnosis, mental-health judgments, or substitute treatment
- Specialized legal, tax, or financial advice
- Sole response in emergencies or crisis situations
- Romance or dating
AI responses are generated through external generative-AI services. We don't guarantee the quality, accuracy, or usefulness of any AI response.
Pricing and payments
Free plan
Free. Includes the quiz, the result view, the 7-day plan, and today's 1-minute mission.
30-day plan
Indicative USD pricing: approximately 3.99 USD as a one-time purchase, including taxes. Provides 30 days of missions and continuation guidance. The 30-day plan does not auto-renew.
Plus plan
Indicative USD pricing: approximately 7.99 USD / month, including taxes. Provides the AI trainer companion, the ongoing monthly plan, the activity log, and the community features.
Payment method and billing
- Payment is planned through Stripe (credit card and similar).
- The 30-day plan charges once at purchase and does not auto-renew.
- The Plus subscription is billed every month from the signup date, automatically.
- If a payment fails, paid features may be restricted.
If a first-month campaign or other special pricing applies, the conditions, the period, and the switch to the regular price are shown explicitly on the signup screen.
Indicative USD prices are estimates for overseas demand validation and may change at official launch.
Cancellation
You can cancel the Plus subscription anytime from the settings screen. After cancellation, you keep Plus features through the end of the current billing period.
Prorated refunds are not provided as a rule. If the Service was unavailable due to a serious operator fault, we may handle it individually.
You may delete your account anytime. After deletion, stored data is removed within a reasonable period, except where the law requires retention.
Your responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Violate applicable laws or public order
- Infringe on the rights of the operator or any third party
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the Service
- Make unauthorized access or place excessive load on the Service
- Register false account info or impersonate others
- Use the Service through abusive automation
- Use the Service commercially without prior permission
The Service exists to support hobby continuation. The following uses are contrary to its intent:
- Using it for dating or matchmaking
- Solicitation, advertising, or routing users to external services
- Comparison, ranking, or evaluation that intimidates others
- Seeking medical or therapeutic care
Community guidelines
The community is a place for people building small steps to safely share activity logs. The following are prohibited:
- Posts, messages, or reactions aimed at dating
- Solicitation, sales, or routing to external contacts
- Defamation, attacks, or discriminatory speech
- Posting personal info (address, phone, employer, etc.)
- Impersonation or false information
- Sexual or violent expression, distressing images
- Content that encourages self-harm or harm to others
- Repeated identical posts or spam
For confirmed violations, we may hide the post or suspend the account temporarily or permanently.
User-submitted content
You retain copyright in content you post. You grant the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for operating, improving, analyzing, and promoting the Service.
You warrant that your content does not infringe third-party rights and that you hold the necessary rights.
Intellectual property
The software, design, text, images, logos, characters, and diagnosis logic that constitute the Service belong to the operator or rightful owners.
You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or reuse them beyond what is necessary to receive the Service.
Ads and affiliate disclosure
The Service and related articles may include affiliate links (Amazon Associates and others) or sponsored content. These are clearly labeled "Ad," "PR," or "Affiliate."
The Service never requires you to purchase a product or service. We first guide you toward "what's already at home" and free methods, and only then suggest gear if needed.
Changes, suspension, termination
The operator may modify, suspend, or terminate the Service in part or in whole without prior notice, for maintenance, technical reasons, or operational reasons.
Except as provided in these Terms, we aren't liable for resulting losses. If the entire Service ends, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
Disclaimers
We do not warrant that the Service is fit for your particular purpose, useful for any specific result (such as finding a hobby, sticking with it, or improving your health), or otherwise.
We aren't liable for losses arising from using or being unable to use the Service, AI responses, community interactions, or external linked content — except for losses caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
Where Japanese consumer-protection law or other applicable law prohibits exclusion or limitation of liability, those laws apply within their scope.
Personal data
The handling of personal data is governed by our separate Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may change these Terms as needed. Updated Terms take effect when posted on the Service or notified to users. We will provide reasonable advance notice for important changes.
Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute will be exclusively submitted, in the first instance, to the court with jurisdiction over the operator's location in Japan.
Nothing in this section overrides mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
